Sangrur, January 13

Twenty cows died last night at a gaushala in Lehragaga, about 40 km from here. They died after their health started deteriorating suddenly. However, the cause of the cows’death is still unknown.

The Animal Husbandry Department today conducted post-mortem examination and sent the samples to Forensic Laboratory at Chandigarh to ascertain the cause of death.

Besides these 20 deceased cows, 15 other cows were also found unwell.

The doctors of the Animal Husbandry Department gave them treatment. Their health is now stable.

Some teams of the department are still on the job looking after the cows to prevent further loss of life.
