NEW DELHI: A survey said Tuesday that a majority of respondents considered Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial remark against PM Narendra Modi as an “affront to the dignity of the PM’s office”.Most respondents also believed that it was a reflection of the main opposition party’s “desperation”, the survey conducted by Matrize News Communications said, adding 72% of the total 5,000 respondents held that Kharge’s remark demonstrated a “lack of respect for Sanatan culture and Indian values”.Kharge had sparked controversy Sunday with his “Modi ka baap bhi jayega” remark after a member of the audience interjected during his speech at a Patna event to say that “the PM would not go anywhere” . It said the survey was carried out between Oct 25 and 27 through CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing).
