Terrorists fire at CRPF vehicle in Srinagar downtown

An armed terrorist opened fire at a bulletproof CRPF vehicle in the busy Khanyar area of Srinagar’s downtown late Monday. There was no loss of life or injury in the attack, which was the first such attempt in the Old City after 2019.
“There was an attempted attack by (a) pistol-borne terrorist on BP vehicle of CRPF in Khanyar area which was repelled by alert personnel. The terrorist was chased away by personnel, who showed wise restraint due to potential collateral damage” Srinagar Police wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Official sources said that there are 81 terrorists active in Kashmir division and among them, 33 are locals while the rest are non-locals. This year so far, 51 terrorists have been killed in J&K and among them, 41 were foreigners and 10 were locals. Officials said that around 20 security personnel were killed this year in terrorist attacks and encounters this year.
