Chandigarh: Security agencies on Saturday recovered a China-made drone near the International Border in the Tarn Taran Sector. Based on a tip-off, a joint search was launched by the Border Security Force and the Punjab Police on the outskirts of Rajoke village. TNS

1 dead in road mishap

Abohar: A 36-year-old labourer, identified as Sunil Kumar of Chanan Khera, died while his pillion rider and nephew, Arun of Jandwala Hanwanta, was injured when their bike collided with a mini-truck, reportedly in an overtaking attempt on the Abohar-Sittogunno flyover on Sunday. OC

Two held for theft

Abohar: The police here arrested two persons in connection to an alleged incident of theft of a generator on December 28, 2023 in Shergarh village. Based on a complaint by farmer Mohan Lal, police authorites nabbed Jandwala Hanwanta village residents Gobind and Sanjay, while efforts were still underway to nab Satish, resident of the same village, the police said on Sunday. Transformers commissioned

Chandigarh: PSTCL has commissioned two transformers worth Rs 17 crore at Kharar and Talwandi Sabo, said Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO. The PSTCL commissioned 160 MVA, 220/66 KV power transformer at Kharar substation at cost of Rs 9.88 crore. It also commissioned additional 100 MVA, 220/66 KV power transformer at a cost of Rs 7.42 crore at Talwandi Sabo substation.
