BJP government made Haryana number one in drugs, corruption, crime: Hooda
Former Haryana chief minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday accused the BJP government of worsening the state’s situation.

Former Haryana chief minister and leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday accused the BJP government of worsening the state’s situation, alleging that Haryana, once among the country’s leading states on development indicators, now ranks at the top in drugs, corruption and crime.Addressing the Congress Block Workers’ Conference in Tauru in Nuh district, Hooda said the BJP government had not taken a single decision in the past 12 years that benefited the people.Hooda claimed that during the previous Congress regime, Haryana dominated the nation in terms of employment, per capita investment, and per capita income. He said that under the BJP administration, the state’s situation had subsequently gotten worse. He also said that the welfare of Haryana and the country could be ensured only by removing the BJP from power.“The BJP has deteriorated Haryana’s economic condition to such an extent that among the 18 major states, Haryana has slipped to 14th position. A report of the Central Government itself describes Haryana as the most unsafe state in the country,” he said.

Referring to the law-and-order situation, Hooda claimed that around 60 criminal gangs were active in the state, as per PTI reports“The extent of crime can be gauged from the fact that 60 criminal gangs are active in the state. They not only commit crimes but also claim responsibility for them afterwards, because they have no fear of the government or the law-and-order system,” he added.Hooda further alleged that recent developments had raised questions over the functioning of the Election Commission. Referring to Rahul Gandhi and reports in the media, he claimed that there was evidence to suggest that the BJP had formed governments in several states, including Haryana, by “stealing votes”.
