NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday announced the extradition of wanted accused Sajeer Palli Mooppam from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India in connection with a sexual assault case registered by the Delhi Police.According to a CBI press release, the operation was carried out in coordination with the ministry of external affairs and the ministry of home affairs.“The investigation revealed that the accused, along with an accomplice, forcibly administered an intoxicating substance to a 20-year-old woman, rendering her incapacitated,” the agency said.“Taking advantage of her helpless state, the accused transported her to a hotel, fraudulently checking in using third-party identity credentials to evade detection. He subjected the victim to non-consensual sexual assault, which was corroborated by subsequent medical and forensic reports,” it added.
