RAIPUR: Kaustubh Shukla from Chhattisgarh will serve as an office-bearer in the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association (SCAORA). Shukla, who hails from Raipur and is an Advocate on Record, has been chosen as the Joint Secretary of the SCAORA.
He completed his education in Bhilai. After school, he pursued legal studies at an institute in Pune. He is the initial lawyer from Chhattisgarh to serve as an office-bearer in the esteemed SCAORA executive committee.His appointment brings pride and honour to the legal community in Chhattisgarh.
“Yes, from Chhattisgarh, no one else has been an office-bearer in SCAORA, i.e., the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association. I am the first from Chhattisgarh to be elected as an office bearer of SCAORA,” Shukla, a registered advocate of State Bar Council of Chhattisgarh, told TOI.
“I started my law career from the Trial court in Delhi and worked my way up, and currently practice in the Supreme Court,” Shukla said. During his practice at the Supreme Court, Shukla has dealt with various issues including constitutional, civil, commercial, income tax, and criminal matters.
SCAORA is a top bar association of the Supreme Court. Advocates who pass the Advocate on Record bar exam are the only ones qualified to join SCAORA. SCAORA conducted elections on April 29th to choose its executive committee. The primary function of SCAORA’s executive committee is to address the issues and needs of Advocates on Record practising in the Supreme Court, Shukla said.
On the day of the election, a large number of advocates came out to vote and choose their executive committee, and the results were announced by the end of the day.
