Some police officials brutally assaulted an Indian Army Colonel and his son over a parking dispute.

The wife of serving Indian Army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath alleged that her husband and son Angad Singh were brutally beaten by three Punjab Police SHOs and 10 other police officials close to Rajindra Hospital Dhaba, Patiala on the night of March 13.
Bath is currently posted at the Army headquarters in New Delhi. The wife, Jaswinder Bath, alleged that they were assaulted by three officers, Inspector Harjinder Dhillon, Harry Boparai, and Rauni Singh of Patiala, along with their police officials, as per sources.

She said that her husband and son were beaten using baseball bats and sharp-edged weapons because of which the colonel’s arm was broken and her son suffered a long incised cut on his head.
The father-son duo were hospitalised after the incident and are currently receiving treatment.
The wife alleged that the authorities recorded the statement of the victims after much delay.
She said that no FIR has been filed even after repeated requests and no action has been taken by the concerned police station till date.
She further claimed that the family is now being asked to compromise or face dire consequences.
The wife has claimed that the lives of her family members are at risk and called the “non-action” of the police “highly questionable and condemnable”.
Speaking about the incident, a BJP official said that the father and son were beaten by police officials over a parking dispute and claimed that the FIR was filed against ‘unknown persons’ by the police.
