India, Uzbekistan elevate ties to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

India and Uzbekistan have elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and set a target of $5 billion in bilateral trade by 2030, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation in defence, energy, uranium supply, technology, AI, critical minerals and infrastructure. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also conferred the country’s highest honour, the Order of “Oliy Darajali Dustlik”, on PM Modi. Read full story

Seven bodies recovered from Gandak river in UP after Nepal floods

At least seven unidentified bodies have been recovered from the swollen Gandak, or Narayani, river in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj and Kushinagar districts following devastating floods in Nepal. SSB and SDRF teams carried out retrieval operations as officials began efforts to establish the identities of the deceased. Read full story

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has urged Gulf rulers to identify their “real enemy” and unite to confront common threats. In a written message marking Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, he also called for greater cooperation among Muslims.
