A wedding ceremony in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur descended into chaos when the groom’s girlfriend, arriving unexpectedly from Kerala, disrupted the proceedings. Her arrival, just moments before the finalisation of the Nikaah ceremony, stunned the bride’s family and guests. In the ensuing commotion, the bride’s family detained the groom and his father, subsequently handing them over to the police.
The groom, Dilbahar, had arrived in Gagalhadi with his wedding procession from Sherpur village in Biharigarh. The guests had eaten, and the Qazi was performing the Nikaah rituals. Just as the bride was about to consent to the marriage by saying “Kabul Hai”, Dilbahar’s girlfriend arrived and disrupted the ceremony.

The girlfriend revealed that she had been in a relationship with Dilbahar for the past seven years. She claimed that Dilbahar had also made her have an abortion. Furthermore, she had filed a complaint against Dilbahar at a police station in Kerala on November 30. She showed everyone a photograph of herself and Dilbahar, leaving the bride’s side in shock.

Initially, Dilbahar denied the allegations. However, he later confessed to the police that he was in a relationship with the woman from Kerala. Currently, both families are discussing a compromise. The police have stated that legal action will be taken if a formal complaint is received.
