NEW DELHI: Congress on Sunday claimed SC judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan’s remarks on the right to vote conclusively proved that CEC Gyanesh Kumar had violated Constitution.“Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, a sitting judge of Supreme Court, has been an outspoken champion of environmental protection. Now the courageous jurist has forcefully expressed his view that the right to vote is very much part of the basic structure of Constitution. This conclusively proves that CEC – a constitutional functionary himself – has violated Constitution itself both in letter and spirit,” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said on X.He added, “Justice Bhuyan has said much more and has exposed CEC lock, stock and barrel. Gyanesh Kumar has simply lost all moral right to continue in office.”
