NIA alleged that Khalid and Saifullah had worked as LeT commanders in Kashmir before moving to Pakistan

JAMMU: A special NIA court in Jammu has issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against two Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commanders for evading arrest in terror cases.Justice Prem Sagar passed separate orders on Sept 8 against the duo — Khalid alias Lala Huzaifa alias Bakkarwali, a resident of Pakistan’s South Punjab province; and Saifullah alias Sajid Jatt alias Ali Bhai alias Habibullah Malik (also known by several other aliases), a resident of Pakistan’s Kasur district.NIA alleged that Khalid and Saifullah had worked as LeT commanders in Kashmir before moving to Pakistan, from where they were currently providing weapons, money, and directions to ultras operating in Kashmir. While Khalid was active in Ganderbal and Bandipora districts, Saifullah — a designated terrorist listed in the Fourth Schedule of UAPA — operated in Kulgam between 2005 and 2007, NIA stated. The investigation also revealed communication IDs allegedly linked to Saifullah, according to court records.The proceedings stem from a case wherein J&K Police intercepted a motorbike at Gujar Tent, Pandach, Srinagar, during naka checking on March 31, 2026. A Chinese grenade and 15 live rounds/cartridges were allegedly seized from the rider, Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat of Batpora, Srinagar. An FIR was registered at Zakoora PS under provisions of the UAPA, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act. The case was transferred to NIA in April.

DSP Amit Sharma said NIA moved applications before the special court seeking NBWs against Khalid and Saifullah. As their attendance could not be secured through ordinary means, the court granted the requests. The NBW against Khalid was forwarded to DIG, NIA Jammu, for execution, while Saifullah’s NBW was sent to SSP Kulgam.
