SRINAGAR: J&K Police Saturday said they have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in Sopore, around 60 km north of Srinagar, including two assault rifles, four pistols, a multi grenade launcher (MGL), three improvised explosive devices with remote controls, eight detonators and 11 hand grenades.In a statement, police said a cordon-and-search operation was launched in the Mukaam Cherhar forest area of Bomai following specific intelligence inputs, which led to the haul.During the search, a blue barrel and a bag were found concealed beneath a large boulder, packed with arms and ammunition.An FIR under sections of the UAPA, the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act has been registered at Bomai Police Station.
