NEW DELHI: Actors Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi and Suniel Shetty, filmmaker Priyadarshan and musician Ricky Kej are among 18 members named to the reconstituted Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), bringing prominent faces from cinema, television and music to the film certification body.The appointments take effect immediately and will remain valid for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the information and broadcasting ministry announced on Wednesday.The board also includes actors Manoj Joshi, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Pallavi Joshi, Roopali Ganguly and Nishigandha Wad, along with filmmakers Abhishek Jain and Neela Madhab Panda, producer Supriya Yarlagadda and singer Hansraj Hans.

Vinod Anupam, Yatindra Mishra, Waman Kendre and Ramesh Patange complete the 18-member list. Five of the appointed members are women.The reconstitution was notified on September 16 under Section 3(1) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, read with Rule 3 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024, according to the ministry.The announcement names the board members but does not announce an appointment to the chairperson’s post or specify which members have been retained from the previous board.
