Chandigarh, March 4
The Budget session of the Punjab Assembly resumed on Monday with pandemonium prevailing in the House as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann along with AAP MLAs engaged in heated arguments with the opposition legislators.
Earlier, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, in a deviation from the practise of beginning the day’s session with question hour, allowed discussion on Governor’s address on request from the treasury benches.
In a dramatic event, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann before speaking on Governor’s address presented a lock to the Speaker, asking that the House should be locked from inside; so that the opposition should not be allowed to leave the House.
The CM said that the opposition Congress do not have the patience to listen to the truth.
On this, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa along with other Congress MLAs strongly objected to Mann’s statement.
